A seasonal pause & breathe

A seasonal pause & breathe

Sometimes the world gets a little louder in December, brighter lights, longer lists, fuller days. But here, in this small corner of the day/evening, you’re invited to take a moment that’s just for you.

Breathe in softly...

let your shoulders fall...

let your mind unspool from all the things tugging at it.

This season isn’t a race.

It isn’t a performance.

It isn’t something you have to keep up with.

It’s perfectly okay if your Christmas looks gentler, quieter, or softer than others expect.

It’s okay if you need to rest more.

It’s okay if you’re moving at your own pace.

It’s okay if you’re protecting your peace like a tiny flame cupped in your palms.

Take a slow breath.

Notice the warmth around you, maybe a cup of tea, a cosy stitch on your hook (for those of who don't dabble in the fibre arts), a few words from the soft bagels of your book or finally, the faint light of twilight settling outside the window.

You’re doing the best you can.

You’re allowed to pause.

You’re allowed to choose presence over pressure.

You’re allowed to feel whatever comes up, and let it pass, like snowflakes in your palm.

Here’s your reminder:

• you are not behind

• you are not alone

• you are allowed to rest

Breathe.

Reset.

Carry on, softly.
